Four incredible individuals in the RHA community were recognized by the UJA Federation of Greater Toronto Koschitzky Centre for Jewish Education in January, 2021. The Jewish Day School Volunteer event recognized some of the dedicated individuals who are vital to the success of schools in Toronto.

Our students and the entire community have been served this year by the countless hours of these four individuals. We have been fortunate to have the expertise of a pediatrician, social worker, philanthropist and child psychologist in the collective planning that has gone into making this year for RHA in the midst of a global crisis.

Jenny Frisch, President of the RHA Board of Directors, has provided exceptional leadership and critical perspective on the mental health of students in her many roles on the Board, the Pandemic Advisory Task Force and the Mental Health Task Force.

Michal Galboa has provided her expertise in child psychology and mental health to RHA. Through her contributions to the RHA Weekly's Resilience Corner, her perspective on the Mental Health Task Force and her contribution as a guest speaker, Michal has ensured that the well-being of students and parents in our community has remained at the forefront of all planning considerations.

Ronnie Strasser is a tireless advocate for RHA and is a dedicated philanthropist and fundraising strategist. He has served as the Vice President and Development Chair of the Board, and throws his personal commitment to the school's financial sustainability behind every fundraising initiative we undertake.

Dr. Michele Porepa, a talented Pediatrician and Lecturer, leads our Pandemic Advisory Task Force and contributed so generously of her time creating and re-evaluating the rigorous protocols that kept RHA a safe learning environment for in-person learning in 2020. Michele has kept us abreast of every change to best practices on COVID-19 risk mitigation and also contributes her time to build our Grade Ambassador network.

RHA joins the UJA in recognizing these dedicated volunteers for their role in providing leadership and support to our schools and communities.
