Focusing on Growth Mindset

If you walk down the hallways of RHA this year you will see various posters of encouragement and information on the “growth mindset”. This school-wide initiative takes aim at challenging students’ perspectives and building resilience through reframing thoughts and language to maximize the capability of young brains to learn more. Our students at Robbins Hebrew Academy are encouraged to push beyond the boundaries they may think they have with hard work, different strategies and innovation.

One of the strategies students are learning to change to a growth mindset is changing language from ‘I can’t do this’ to ‘I can’t do this yet’. Students throughout the school have started the year by setting SMART goals (Specific, Measureable, Actionable, Realistic and Timely). Brett Copeland, Interim Director of the Middle School, says ‘let’s get growing, RHA!’
