Healthy Minds, Spirits and Bodies

At Robbins Hebrew Academy, we know that healthy spirits, minds and bodies are inextricably linked, and contribute to healthy habits that will last a lifetime. Our students are encouraged to move their bodies through Daily Physical Activity, intramural sports and a variety of extra-curricular activities. Research has shown that incorporating physical activities can promote academic learning and builds self-esteem.

Students from Grades 1-5 participate in Daily Physical Activity (DPA) every morning in the gym, having fun with a variety of sports, games, and dances!

In addition to DPA, all grades are encouraged to play intramural sports during lunch. The goal for every student is to be active in a variety of different activities, learning various skills that promote interest in new activities and get the body moving in different ways.

As a member of the Jewish Day Schools Sports League, our sports teams have the opportunity to compete against other educational institutions in tournaments and leagues. Activities include Cross-Country, Hockey, Soccer, Basketball, Softball, Ultimate Frisbee, and more!

“Through sports students learn to collaborate, cooperate, to lead, and to play with integrity,” says Marla Kizner, our physical education teacher and sports coach.
