RHA AThletics

Study after study has shown the importance of physical education in school. Not only does it help develop motor skills and muscles, it also promotes academic learning, builds self-esteem, fosters self-discipline and teaches good sportsmanship.

Each grade has Physical education twice weekly. Daily morning exercise takes place for students in grades one to five. Intramural sports take place every lunch hour for our Middle School, and at recess time for the Elementary grades.

Intramural sports are popular among students at RHA. Students compete with other schools in soccer, ultimate frisbee, basketball, hockey, volleyball, softball, flag football and track. And our students win lots of medals!

RHA is an active, voting voice on the Jewish Day School Sports League (JDSSL), taking part in decision-making, program planning and implementation. Here are some of the sports we participate in:

  • Junior Leagues: Cross Country Running, Co-Ed Soccer, Basketball, Hockey, Softball
  • Middle School Leagues: Cross Country Running, Girl’s Basketball, Boy’s Basketball, Hockey

We also participate in several CHAT tournaments throughout the year: Boy’s Floor Hockey, Girl’s Soccer, Boy’s Soccer, Boy’s Flag Football, Girl’s Volleyball, Boy’s Volleyball.
