Through the caring and close community that is RHA, students learn to recognize and act on the deeper meaning of charity (tzedakah) and repairing the world (tikkun olam).
At RHA, students work to learn about social responsibility by giving of themselves and getting personally involved. We emphasize the personal commitment for all causes such as Israel (One Family), Jewish causes, Project Giveback, Mitzvah day and other charities. Students are involved on many levels including volunteering and community service. Students will also visit churches and mosques to connect with students from other religions.
A caring community of staff and parents are some of the relationships that guide students to be empathetic and active citizens locally and globally.
“My daughter in grade four came home to say she had chosen Sick Kids for her Project Giveback charity. When I asked what Project Giveback was, she told me ‘it is when you give a little of yourself back to others.’”
